This position is located at the Milliken – Magnolia Plant located in Blacksburg, SC and reports to the Sr. Process Improvement Professional for the area of responsibility.  The position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts at the site. The position plays a key role in the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements that drive new performance levels, improve quality, consistency, and cost. Typical hours are Monday—Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  However, due to continuous operations of the plant, the work schedule may require arriving before 8:00 am, staying beyond 5:00 pm, and participation in the management team weekend rotation schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough understanding of the conditions that impact the processes and products
• Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects
• Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills
• Incorporate creative thinking to problem solving to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
• Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations
• Work closely with the Product Development area to create new samples and products
• Communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
• Participate fully in the Safety Process
• Participate fully in Lean principles and MPS processes

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc. Engineering
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Qualifications Preferred:

• Textile, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering major
• Previous manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or fulltime)
