This position is located at the Milliken – Magnolia Plant located in Blacksburg, SC, reports directly to the location’s HR Manager and works with the location HR team in the area of policies, programs and practices that are part of the company’s human resources strategy. Expected travel is approximately 25% and may require extended hours at times.

This position is a training role that will prepare the candidate for an Employment Manager position.  Candidates must be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of people management excellence.
  • Consistently administer core Human Resources functions and compliance areas to include:
    • Company policies and procedures
    • Benefits program
    • Safety process
    • Workers compensation
  • Communicate, verbally and in writing, and interact effectively to all production, administrative, and management associates as well as corporate HR staff
  • Lead the talent acquisition process including developing job descriptions, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates; maintain the Talent Central job posting system
  • Lead the performance management process
  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader to the HR Manager, Plant Manager, and management team on all location matter (strategic and operating)
  • Lead special HR related projects and surveys
  • Manage the on-boarding process for new hires and the off-boarding process for voluntary/involuntary termination
  • Demonstrated a high level of confidentiality at all times
  • Ensure appropriate training is provided to associates for professional and job-related development
  • Manage the Continuous Skills Development process of all associates
  • Manage a team of training associates
  • Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that written performance evaluations of supervised associates are completed as required, provides continuous feedback on personnel performance issues, and takes immediate action to recognize achievements and addresses deficiencies or problems.
  • Support Milliken’s Diversity & Inclusion values, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Support Textile Division engagement and morale initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

 

  • BS/BA degree
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to accuracy of highly detailed information
  • Knowledge of Employment Law, Benefits Administration, Compensation and Wage Structure.

 

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience in SAP
  • PHR certification
  • 2-3 years of HR experience
  • Experience with OSHA guidelines and workplace safety processes
