POSITION OVERVIEW

The Process Improvement Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for the daily management and performance of their operation. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for directing and controlling distinct chemical processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures that he/she or their direct reports may develop. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the areas of safety, environment, quality, process reliability, delivery, inventory, cost, associate development and morale. This person reports directly to the Operations Manager.

 

The work schedule for this role is Monday – Friday, 1st shift.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with necessary resources (Project Engineers, Engineering Services Managers, Milliken knowledge experts, etc.) to develop a World Class asset management program that is sustainable.
  • Become fully versed in process functionality, to include implementing new equipment, maintenance tasks, process improvement, and record keeping.
  • Become proficient in the department day-to-day processes and conduct daily walkthroughs of the plant addressing problems in safety, housekeeping, quality, and environment.
  • Continuous improvement of proactive maintenance program with close collaboration of ESD Planning and Scheduling Facilitators as well as plant management.
  • Analyze process reliability/efficiency and implement corrective actions to improve measures.
  • Work with Engineering Services managers and facilitators to place appropriate standard time expectations on proactive maintenance tasks and points, as well as develop necessary preventative and proactive tasks.
  • Improve the quality performance of the production teams to ensure Batchsheets are followed and correctly documented.
  • Identify procedural non-conformances problems and collaborate with plant engineers/managers to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Support and monitor Process Facilitator investigation of off quality including implementation of corrective actions.
  • Investigate of customer complaints and implement corrective action plans.
  • Provide 24-hours assistance on emergency situations, start-ups, production difficulties as required.
  • Ensure training systems are adequate.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the operations manager.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s’ Degree (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering).
  • 1+ years of experience in relevant or similar field and setting.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with multiple levels within an organization as well as outside vendors.

 

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

 

  • Previous management experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing
