An opportunity has arisen to join our world class Automotive Textile Company to drive daily operational activities throughout their responsible area of the plant. In return, the role will provide the right person the opportunity to develop and grow both personally and within the business environment.

 

Role (summary)

Team Leaders will drive daily operational activities throughout their area of the plant. By leading by example and coaching, Team Leaders will interact with Shift Managers, lean boards, supply chain, engineering, technical and others to prioritise team workloads and achieve operational excellence. Responsible for shift area performance and visual standards, they will report to the Shift Manager for guidance and support with team performance. 

Team Leaders will be a responsible person in the absence of a Shift Manager.

 

The Multi Op Team Leader shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • To lead the warehouse function in a professional and ethical manner challenging the status quo
  • Champion Lean initiatives and support others in Lean training and learning
  • Organisation of warehouse team members
  • Ensuring loading and unloading tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Ensuring compliance to process standards
  • Ensuring good housekeeping standards maintained
  • Reporting and communication of area performance with Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensuring audits are performed to schedule and resulting actions taken in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring daily team briefings and weekly team meeting are held.
  • Communication with Production and other processes for work prioritisation.
  • Involvement in standard work method development, implementation & sustainment.
  • Responsible for area operational performance.
  • Engagement with and maintenance of visual standards.
  • Responsible person for decision making, plant incident containment and requesting external support in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of the Warehouse process and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Ensuring the competence of team members.
  • Contributing to the risk management system.
  • Ensuring equipment is calibrated.
  • Ensuring safe working practices are followed by associates.
  • Ensuring team have knowledge of current safety topics.
  • Undertaking any other duties or activities reasonably requested in order to meet departmental or company goals.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills are required at all levels both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work without supervision and manage interaction with colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and effective team player.
  • Role model for transparency, honesty, respect, initiative, energy, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to demonstrate the highest ethical standards and integrity.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Understanding of organisational Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work/operating procedures.

  • Location:           Bury site
  • Hours of work:  Mon – Fri, 7am-3pm
  • Salary: £26,000 p.a.
