POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician will analyze production results to increase efficiency while maintaining quality for short term containment and long-term resolutions.  He/she will demonstrate skill in managing projects to completion on time and within budget, as well as completing mechanical work to implement those projects.

 

In accomplishing the work of this position, the Maintenance Technician must be able to read and understand electrical schematics, blue prints, flow diagrams, technical specifications, and equipment manuals to assist in the design and build of manufacturing processing equipment.  Proficiency with hand and power tools, and other manufacturing tools is a requirement.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational
  • Perform work at the highest safety levels, promote safety internally and work directly with contractors on safety procedures
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify and insure sound maintenance processes are develop for capital projects
  • Maintain, repair and troubleshoot all plant equipment
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.  Participate in 5S and TPM teams
  • Read PLC programs as needed for process requirements.  Troubleshoot and correct problems pertaining to software and/or hardware
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Assist in developing new equipment or plant expansion projects
  • Contact, direct and promote the safety of contractors to perform specific inspections or maintenance work
  • Maintain accurate and up to date maintenance records.
  • On call, one-week duration, rotating responsibility
  • Ability to wear a respirator as required by the task being performed or chemical safety data sheets.
  • Work safely around and appropriately handle hazardous chemicals around plant.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule
    • Based on business needs the following maybe required:
      • Overtime
      • Changing shifts
      • Overnight travel

 

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

  • Basic mechanical skills related to the use of hand and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of process control, refrigeration, boilers, steam, pumps, heat exchangers, LOTO, and industrial safety practices
  • Previous electrical work experience a plus
  • Water treatment experience preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing environment a plus
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience or educational equivalent preferred
  • Current Wisconsin Driver’s license
  • Ability to repair and install piping – welding experience a plus
  • Computer Skills and CMMS software experience a plus
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
