POSITION TITLE: Analytical Lab Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Advanced Lab Technician position is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of routine testing by following established SOP’s. This position is also responsible for calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and for ordering supplies used by the Technician Group.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calibrated/accurate lab equipment.
- Sample preparation and instrumental analysis.
- Accurate and timely reported data.
- Personal safety of self and others as well as chemical stewardship.
- Communication with internal customers to ensure testing is performed as requested.
- Complete lab testing accurately and on time as business needs require.
- Alert Analytical Chemist to any possible instrument problems.
- Check and replace instrument gas cylinders as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
- Maintain testing and instrument areas to be in a clean and organized fashion.
- Order supplies in a timely fashion and restock general use supplies as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
- Experience in general laboratory procedures and testing methodologies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and safety focused.
- Ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
- Ability to shift priority of testing needs.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
High school diploma or GED with 3-4 years of relevant experience (Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or related science field can be substituted for less experience)
