The majority of Human Resource associates begin their Milliken career at a manufacturing location in a process improvement or manufacturing management position. This provides an opportunity to gain technical and managerial experience, which better prepares you for the Human Resource field. In the recruiting process, we consider a wide variety of majors.

What Will You Do?
Your initial role in Human Resources will be an Education or Employment Manager. You’ll report directly to a location Human Resource Manager and acquire the skills and knowledge in both the education and employment function. Some of your job responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting new associates
- Orientation and training of associates
- Safety process
- Company policy and labor law administration and interpretation
- Government and state regulation and compliance
- Community relations
- Associate morale
- Salary and benefit administration

Career advancement in the Human Resource field is driven by the complexity and size of our manufacturing locations. With larger and / or multiple locations come increased responsibility. Advancement opportunities also exist in the Human Resource corporate area--safety, public affairs, college relations, corporate support, benefits and education.
